UEEQ
The UEEQ focuses on identifying ethical risks in interactive products by assessing manipulative, addictive, and deceptive design strategies. This addendum to the UEQ introduces new scales that highlight ethical trade-offs in user experience.

Deception
Does the design employ misleading tactics, or is it honest and fair?

Addictiveness
Does the design encourage compulsive use, or does it avoid fostering addictive behaviors?

Coercion
Does the product guide users respectfully, or does it pressure them into actions against their will?
Disguise
Is critical information presented openly, or is it hidden from users?
Annoyance
Does the product create a pleasant experience or uses nagging mechanisms?
What does it measure?

Supplementary tools and guidelines for the use of the UUEQ are currently under development. If you wish to use the User Experienced Ethics Questionnaire (UEEQ) in your work, please refer to it in the following manner: "Motivated by Rhomberg and Sandhaus [1], we employed a user experience questionnaire styled measurement instrument using the UEQ-S [2], along with additional items benevolent vs. deceptive, suggesting vs. pressuring, disguised vs. revealed, and anti-addictive vs. addictive."
OSF Repository
The Open Science Foundation Repository collects materials used to construct the UEEQ, such as Dark Pattern Mockups that rigorously inform the negative adjectives and ethical scope in design.
